For the last three years, our diversity, equity and inclusion team has worked with ShoutOut, an Irish charity committed to improving life for LGBTQ+ people by sharing personal stories and running educational programmes.
Last year we learned about inclusive homes and the year before we learned about pronouns and gender neutral language. We spent a lot of time trying to learn more about becoming more inclusive and participating in Pride celebrations.
This year we took a different tact - we brushed up on the basics and participated in a Pride101 workshop. We learned about the history and meaning behind Pride - the progress that has been achieved and the work we need to do to support LGBTQ+ communities, not just in Ireland, but all over the world.
