Safety Policy

Roche Ireland Limited will conduct its operations in a manner designed to protect the health and safety of all personnel working on site and members of the local community together with the local environment.

Roche Ireland Limited will implement and maintain programmes which will ensure that it:

  • Complies with all applicable regulatory environmental, health and safety protection requirements;
  • Minimises the risk to people both on and off site from accidents or incidents arising from site activities;
  • Monitors and evaluates on a routine basis, the site programmes for the protection of the environment and the health and safety of employees and neighbours;
  • Designs, constructs, maintains and manages its plants and systems in accordance with the best practices;
  • Establishes the site standards for the environment, health and safety and communicates them with employees, contractors and visitors;
  • Encourages the participation of all employees in the environmental, health and safety protection programmes;
  • Communicates with the local community on safety and environmental matters in a timely and effective manner.
 

Roche Ireland Limited is committed to a programme of continual improvement in environmental, health and safety performance by making it an integral part of all its operations.

 

This policy is based on relevant regulatory requirements and best practice for the chemical processing industry, with particular reference to the Responsible Care Codes.

 

This policy is also designed to fulfill the requirements of the Control of Major Hazards Involving Dangerous Substances for having a Major Accident Prevention Policy (MAPP) in place and the requirements of the Safety, Health and Welfare at Work Act 2005.
