Community Involvement

Involvement in Community Projects

The Company provides sponsorship to a wide variety of cultural and sporting organisations and events in County Clare. Help has been extended to local GAA and rugby clubs, Daycare centre, Hospice, County Agricultural Show and Arts Festival.

Community Liaison Group

A community liaison group comprising of company and local representatives has been in existence for several years. It is an information sharing forum whereby the company keeps people in the locality up to date with what is happening on-site. If there are any issues in the community relating to Roche then they are discussed and hopefully resolved by this group which meets three to four times per year.

Roche Aids

Roche Ireland employees make a financial contribution per week to a fund called Roche Aid. The Company matches equally the sums contributed by the employees.

As of the end of 2008 Roche Aid has contributed in excess of €400,000 to good causes over the years. Employees have spent over 40 weeks on hands-on work for projects in both Russia and Africa. Over 50 weeks work have been given by employees to local projects in Ireland during 2007/2008.

In addition there are a significant number of employees who are actively involved in voluntary work and fund raising. The company offers them as much support as possible.
